H Guys(and Ladies),
Firstly I would like to apologise on my lack of reglar posts to the Weight Lifting Routines Blog. A few months ago we found out that is going to be a mini edition to the Carey family and have been all over the place ever since - not just pysically but I mean my mind!!!
Secondly I have been working very hard to try and put together a beginners workout. I'm hoping it will be a complete 12 week routine including some excellent techniques and tricks to get you looking in shape in no time! Most of the emails I get are from beginners who are starting out and need some pointers so this has been my first project.
Thirdly and lastly( no more grovelling I promise!) I have also been putting together my own website where I look at Weight Lifting Programs on the market and recommend you the best out there. This will be up and running soon and I promise to let you know when this is complete.
As you can I have been very busy so please forgive my slackness on the posts.
One more thing............ I'm away on holiday for a week from Saturday but will be back to normal as soon as I'm back!! Sorry!!!
Hang in there, the coming months are going to rock with what i've got to show you.

Weight Lifting Routines - Becoming Flexible
Hi,
Today I wanted to talk to about adding streches into your Weight Lifting Routines so you can actually move a day after your workout! I know this feeling only too well and wanted to explain a little further about how to get a little more flexible.
Like most weight lifters I love lifting weights and over time seeing some great results to my overall physique, but when I first started out I would completely miss out the stretching excercises before and after my work out.
So not only was I becoming tight from lack of stretching but as we know the weights themselves shorten muscles too so I could hardly move!
It didn't take me too long before I realised that I was doing something wrong. I spoke to a few guys down the gym who gave me some great tips:
1) Try stretching the muscles you are working between sets
2) I know it sound a bit girly to some but adding a yoga or Pilates class to your regimen is a great idea! Not only does it make you more flexible but also aids breathing, and your overall posture.
3) Doing some stretching is MUCH better than doing none! Adding just five minutes of stretching to your Weight Lifting Routine will help a great deal. Doing a stretch for a slow count of 10 of 15 and doing this around 10 times will make up your five minutes.
So please make sure you start doing your stretches!!
Until next time.....
